El Gouna , Egypt

Kitepower El Gouna is the oldest kite school on the El Gouna lagoon, teaching here since 2004. Today it is owner-operated by co-owners Lukáš and Andrea Vogeltanz, who have been teaching in Egypt since 2011.
We teach on a private, flat-water lagoon that is waist-deep over a sandy bottom and does not dry out with the tide — you can stand up, so a fall is just a pause. That is why complete beginners progress here quickly, and why we can also run kids' lessons from 20 kg and adaptive sit-kiteboarding sessions for riders with a physical disability.
What we teach: kitesurfing from zero to independent riding, wing foiling, hydrofoil, parawing, pumpfoiling, boat foiling and downwinders. Standard ratio is a maximum of 2 students per instructor with one full set of gear, and we teach in Czech, Slovak, English, German, Polish, Russian, Italian and Arabic.
We ride all year. Around 77% of days in the year are rideable — that is measured, not estimated: we run our own weather station (Windguru station 3321) and have over two million measurements since 2022. Our live webcam and 16-day forecast are free and public on our website, along with an iPhone and Apple Watch app.
On the beach: rescue boat, equipment rental and storage, a Flysurfer and Levitaz test centre, and our own SALT beach club and restaurant.
