I had a 5 day course in the start of the season after already having had about 8 lessons in Aruba and Portugal. I started with about an hour of refreshing everything and trying to make water starts. In the end I could get up and ride for some time with more consistentency. The instructors here were notably more patient than previous instructors and helped me be calm and not feel like a failure when I did not always do what I planned in my head. They were actually honestly excited about the progression that I did make. I got three instructors, but they all had the same teaching methods and vibe. Good thing is they all had their own way advices so I could pick what worked best from each and progress quicker. Also they get up early so the first slot was at 8.30 when the water was still quiet. Kite beach can become pretty busy, but they always tried to get you a bit less crowded space in the water. Also they emphasized safety and calm, also when you tangle your lines. Don't get mad at eachother as it can happen and just release safety and untangle at the beach. Also they bring a lot of spare equipment, so you can change kites and boards on the beach depending on the wind and progression. The equipment is a bit older (or heavily used), but I always had a safe and working set. The prices for the lessons were fair and comparable to both Portugal and Aruba. The owner is very flexible when lessons or equipment don't work out. Also they spend some time to hook you up socially with other members at the Surf Hub which was very nice. In the end I always felt safe and could make the most of my lessons

As a former (53 year old) surfboy i started with kite lessons. The communication with Amy about the lessons, the windspeed en time was great. I had 5 lessons, a lovely time with the instructors en plan to come back. Special thanks to Elcio (Tchu) Rocha. Sander

Surf Hub has great instructors, always helpful and aware of each student's needs. Each case is a case, and my instructor helped me a lot with basics and then progression. Very happy with Surf Hub's service and planning to take more lessons when returning to Cape Verde!

What to start with..? The smile and kindness of Amy the co-owner of the kitesurfing school who welcomes you upon your arrival? Obviously, if you had any doubts at the time, you won't have any more once you meet Amy! Then it's time for Kitesurfing lessons, and there the happiness continues, the team of instructors is PERFECT! I had the chance to be supervised by Tchu, everything was excellent, his kindness, his good humor and especially all his advice which made the experience at the top and allowed me at the end of my stay in Santa Maria to practice kitesurfing in total autonomy! Tchu is certainly the best kitesurfing coach on the island ... Well, I believed that until he got sick one morning and Idouino took over while being just as competent as Tchu! And I am sure that Jardel and Elton (who besides being a very good kitesurfer is a super funny person) are as good a coach as Tchu! In short, I could still give lots of compliments to this team who will ensure you a top-notch stay in Santa Maria and excellent quality Kitesurfing lessons. I recommend !!!! Ps : all instructors are Cape Verdeans and speak well differents languages (French English Spanish and of course Portuguese)

This was literally the best kite course I could have ever had. With no experience Jardel brought me to this level. He gave me confidence, he told me the easiest way how to kite and he strongly believed in me. He jumped with me in the water and when he trusted me that I could do everything on my own he let me. He is such a great man and teacher!

Instructors with great skills and experience. Cours was in a very friendly atmosphere, no stress, fun, and the best care. The school arranged my whole stay. Gave me lessons on each windy day so that I could achieve the best qualifications. Now I feel able to do kitesurfing alone. I am very very grateful to Them. :)

I am super happy that I came across Amy and Jardel - they definitely showed me not only what the Kite is all about but also what is the culture, lifestyle and freedom behind it :) Awesome people with great attitude towards newcomers and rookies. The course itself was well-thought, planned and actually quite on point with timing (regrading my progress). Pricing was really good as well, especially compering to rates in Europe it was good value for that money. I definitely recommend!

I've never tried kite before and it turned out that I got a chance to learn in the best place on Earth with best school in the world. Thanks to Amy (owner of the kite school), Jardel and other instructors I spent an amazing month. Each class was dedicated to a specific skill. Our instructors were able to clearly explain what how and why do things in a certain way. Basically after every class I was able to celebrate small success which made the whole course even more fun. They were always there for me and my friends, giving us important feedback and explaining mistakes that we did. I can truly recommend Jardel and other guys. They were very helpful and patient with us. They made the whole experience extremely fun. Whenever I managed to go to another stage, learn new skill they were celebrating together with me. You could feel that it wasn't just a regular "student-teacher" relation, but rather friend-friend. If you go to Cape Verde, SurfHub is definitely the place to go.

The kite instructors make sure that you both book progresss and have a wonderful time on the water. From the moment you head out to kitebeach, the instructors make you feel comfortable, often jokes are all around. This makes also the time out of the water very fun. Coming back from a kite lessen, Amy is always interested in how it went and how much you progressed. Amy really cares about her students, which will make me definetely come back in the future.
