Recap on a busy and windy year

20 Dec 2018

Dear IKO Community,

We hope that you are well and that you are having a wonderful holiday season.

What a year 2018 it has been! Here in Cabarete, Dominican Republic, we have been spoiled with exceptional wind conditions and to be honest, it hasn’t always been easy to sit through the day at the IKO office... But that is what sunset sessions are for and why we can reflect back today and say we are proud of the value we provided and the progress made.

Here is 2018 in review:

Some of the updates we worked on!

  • Solution to kiteboarder better
  • Ebook series
  • Destinations contents
  • Request your certification
  • Member deals: Lieuwe, Flysurf, Ocean Rodeo, Liquid force, Woo, Kiteworld Magazine
  • Online booking for recreational courses
  • Improved SEO and professional contents to serve your school

Our biggest move this year: an upgrade that benefits all

In 2018, we took advantage of new technologies that have become available to us. We have created an app and turned our physical certification cards into a virtual one; the vCard. Now, all IKO certified members can access their riding level or qualification at any time and any place from their phone. The vCard enables more control over the IKO course quality and ensures that all instructors certify their students online.

The vCard, along with other new features and upgrades, are part of our efforts to offer more and more services to kiters in the IKO community, from beginner to advanced. Don’t miss out on everything we have in stores for you in 2019: download the IKO App now!
