I was first introduced to kitesurfing safety, including understanding wind direction and strength, being aware of my surroundings, and learning how to properly use the safety and quick-release systems. This gave me confidence before entering the water. After that, we practiced kite control and positioning, which helped me understand how to manage power smoothly. In the water, I learned body dragging to improve control and board recovery. We then progressed to the water start, where I focused on correct board placement, body position, and keeping the kite at 12 o’clock before initiating a controlled power stroke. I learned to let the kite pull me up gradually rather than standing too quickly. The step-by-step approach made the learning process clear, safe, and enjoyable.
