Karol Jonasik

I have been to The Reef, Saint Lucia, nine years ago and, since then, wanted to learn how to kitesurf. Im am 48 years old and dependent on rather strong glasses. For most of my life I haven't really spent more than 10 minutes really swimming, never feeling comfortable in the water. In the past couple of days Karol taught me the basics of Kitesurfing and, more importantly, helped me overcome my hesitant relationship with water. I have always felt good and safe with him. His instructions were always clear and easy to follow because he gave me as much time as I needed and everything was done step by step. I have taught many people myself in different subjects. Rating my course with Karol from both this professional background and my personal experience I can say that course, for me, has been nothing less than PERFECT.

When vacationing in St Lucia I took kite boarding lessons from a local school with an international instructor teaching me one-on-one. His name was Karol, and his teaching was clear, efficient, and concise. He was very experienced and took his job very seriously. He showed no self interest and only wanted to maximize my time, instruction, and fun. It made me laugh when I would come back to shore and he would ask me several questions about the kite, board, feel of the handle, etc and also ask me if I was comfortable and having fun. We were both so focused on the sport and task at hand that it caught me off guard. I wished I had more time to continue my instruction with him. He didn't waste time on skills and concepts I learned quickly, but rather he moved on to the next steps and he allowed me time to master each challenge at my own pace. I plan to stay in touch and cross paths with Karol again sometime and somewhere to ride again.

I really enjoyed learning to kiteboard from Karol. He is fun and efficient in his instruction. The sport has a considerable learning curve and Karol/IKO broke it into comfortable, incremental steps to make it accessible.
