David and his instructors were very patient and knowledgeable. I felt like I made progress very quickly and had a lot of fun in the process. The equipment and location were fantastic and I would recommend this school to friends and family.

David is the best of five instructors that I have had. By far he has an ability to identify the specific item needing improvement and how-to improve it. Great instructor. Best wind spot in Barranquilla.

Ausrüstung eher veraltert, wir hatten 3 Probleme mit dem Material, deshalb haben wir viel Zeit verloren, da es während der Ausbildung ausgetauscht werden musste. Auch wurden nicht 8 Stunden exakt gemacht, deshalb konnte ich den Wasserstart nicht trainieren, da wir immer später angefangen haben und immer 5 Minuten zum Spot hin und zurück fahren mussten. Der Wind vor Ort ist jedoch sehr gut.

I had got to a 2H certification over 7 hours in the Dominican a week prior to coming Colombia. After finishing David's course, I finished the 2H section and got to level 3 over 4 hours. It was less than I was hoping for, but that's where the circumstances brought me. We spent ~1.5 hours refreshing the prior skills learned. David was an excellent teacher and spoke great English. He was also very focused on safety and had no issue keeping me safe whenever I was struggling with strong winds. Unfortunately, his assistant spoke no English, despite booking an English lesson. The assistant just helped with the fresher of items I previously learned, but if he were to be helping me during learning new items, I imagine the safety would be quite poor, as there's litle to no communication. That said, his assistant was great at demonstrating what needs to be done. I also speak SOME Spanish, so that helped. The equipment was in poor condition when compared to my prior experience (the prior school has brand new equipment and renewed it every 2 years). The kites were being bandaged before we started (assuming due to holes being present?), the control bar was pretty badly worn (with the felt coming off), and everything felt like it was several years old with heavy use. The facilities were bad. While I admire David's desire to teach kiting where we learned, the facility is ~30m North of Baranquilla and undeveloped. My girlfriend felt fairly unsafe due to the condition of everything - there were dilapitated buildings all around made of stray wood and aluminum, stray dogs roaming throughout (this did not bother us, but I wanted to mention it), and the school was fairly beat down as well. Services were OK as well, as we spent ~40 minutes of our session boating to the teaching point, which should NOT be part of the teaching time, as it's transit and there was no teaching done. Luckily we did 4 hours at once. If we did 2 hours, 40% of the time we'd be in a dingy traveling.

David and his team were able to expertly accommodate my husband and I's different learning styles. I felt supported and safe through the entire process while having the time of our lives. We are considering returning to Colombia for a month just to continue taking lessons from David!

David and his team are incredible. Very kind and welcoming. The spot is amazing, and I felt safe throughout the entire process. It's amazing to learn from someone who is as passionate about the sport as David is. Would definitely recommend to everyone!

A great spot, and a great, knowledgeable instructor are a combination hard to find. David and the Kiyakitesurf staff, make you feel safe, at home and you can tell how passionate they are and willing to share that passion with students.

El de ATC me pareció muy bueno, porque cumplió mis expectativas, dándome mayor conocimiento sobre Kite. El profesor era muy aplicado, dedicado y preparaba y estudiaba para sus clases.

I had a great time learning and becoming an independent rider. KiyaKite has given me the confidence to understand and enjoy the wind over the ocean water. It is the best school with the best teachers. The spot where KiyaKite operates now is one of the most beautiful settings a rider can have around the are of Barranquilla.
