Kitesurf Instructor Equivalency Course
Enhance your Training Experience
IKO values your past trainings and acquired teaching experience. The idea behind the equivalency course is to help you learn, understand and adopt what the IKO has developed and pushed over the last decade within only a few days. You already know how to teach and are knowledgeable on the theory so we focus on explaining you our lesson plan, standards and build a case on why we consider our method to be the safest and most efficient way to teach kitesurf worldwide. This job-oriented course will be a unique experience where you will also get to share and learn with other experienced instructors from other organization who are as motivated and knowledgeable as you.
Focus on safety and worldwide standards like Thilo
“I decided to join the IKO for its strong focus on safety in the business, taking care of the student, the instructor as well as the equipment. IKO lesson plan consists in logical steps that build on each other. The level system and student-to-instructor-ratios totally make sense, as it brings you to the point where you know your skills and limits and - based on teaching experience - get better little by little until you reach the next level and are able to teach more students at the same time.”
Start a New Career Path
IKO is more than just a kiteboarding training methodology. The IKO will allow you to stand out and grow. Based on your previous diploma or level, we offer you different tools, benefits and opportunities. From Instructors who travel the world, to those that open up their own IKO Center to the professionals who build a career within the IKO to become an Examiner; the IKO is filled with opportunities you just have to choose your path.
Seek International opportunities like Matty
“The IKO is simply more of an international organization. Once I started to contact schools around the world I soon realized that being an IKO Instructor offers much more potential and having a job offer was more likely. From early on as an instructor, I knew that I wanted to progress through the various levels and it was obvious to me that the IKO offers much more of an achievable career path. As a school owner, I always (and still do) have the idea to possibly open a school abroad. As an IKO Instructor it seems obvious to me that to be able to offer the IKO worldwide recognition to customers was a huge advantage.”
