Meet IKO’s Newest Assistant Instructor
 
The passion for kiteboarding runs so strongly through a kiteboarder’s veins that becoming an instructor is not only about career progression but also about making the sport available as a fun and safe activity to the mainstream public. For avid kiteboarders such as Emmanuel Vasquez of the Dominican Republic, who is now IKO’s newest certified Assistant Instructor, combining the love of the sport with teaching it to others is a natural progression.

The Buddy System by David Dorn
 
Kiting is better with a buddy and when you share the experience, it is more rewarding and safer. Your buddy can be a lifesaver because he is watching out for you and will know if you get in trouble, as he waits till you get back to shore safely. On the water, your buddy can get your board back to you; give you feedback about conditions; and more. Off the water, you can share stories. After months of searching and tirelessly negotiating, IKO is pleased to announce that its hard work has paid off and members can now access exclusively to an unprecedented new international insurance program provided by the Lloyd’s insurance market located in the UK. Unlike before when the IKO offered insurance to just a few countries, this insurance program is now available to IKO Members and Kite Centers located in most countries around the world.
