An IKO level 1 diploma received before June 2008 is valid for 2 years, then the instructor must pass the level 2 and pay their renewal.
A Level 1 instructor that was trained after June 2008 also expires after 2 years but they are not required to become a Level 2. Instructors must also earn enough Continuing Education Points (CEP's) during their membership period to qualify for renewal.
An instructor who behaves dangerously can have his diploma and the rights that go with it revoked.
